Your Tasks

S&CM Category Manager, Drives shopper and channel strategy to maximize net sales, market share, category growth, and in-store visibility, in close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Execution teams. Owns shopper/category insights and defines go-to-market strategies by category and retail environment, ensuring strong PICOS-led 4P execution. Leads category planning and engagement, managing all key meetings, outputs, and plans internally and with customers.

1) ABP/ Fast Start/ Business reviews : Plan & align via sales briefings, category success models, S&CM integration, NPD planning, and activation/customer plans with Marketing & Execution.

2) Master Plan: Build and review category plans with Marketing (ATL/BTL), update NPD OOD and readiness, and deliver monthly updates to SLT and Sales team.

3) S&OP : Analyze category performance (sell-in/out, stock, distribution, pricing, and activations) and build category forecasts. Align with Sales (KAM-TMM) via SOP decks with SKU-level proposals, and continuously refine SOP plans based on PRE-SOP discussions with KAM, Marketing, and Planning.

4) Customer Planning & Engagement: Lead TOP-2-TOP and strategy sessions, prepare bi-annual customer updates (market, category, channel, brand performance), drive internal customer days, lead external category reviews, manage quarterly assortment reviews (MSL targets), and support Omni-channel briefings.

5) Base Business & Innovation Management: Develop full business packages (PICOS, POSM, selling stories/kits), manage volume forecasting (incl. VAS) with KAMs & SLT alignment, and prepare sell-in packs for COM (story, samples, activations).

6) NPD Planning, Targets & Tracking: Set targets (NPD, TRAX, POSM), track NPD weekly (pipefill) and monthly (regional & SA trackers), and continuously update stakeholders on performance, gaps, and progress.

7) Campaign Development & Execution Support: Design national campaign concepts aligned with marketing strategy (themes, timing, channels), brief activation/e-com teams, provide execution assets (KV, digital, claims), and support approvals of campaign materials.

8) Assortment & POSM Management: Lead bi-annual assortment reviews (MSL/CORE/FOCUS SKUs), align and approve with stakeholders, communicate to sales, ensure TRAX updates, and coordinate POSM planning (with execution team handling rollout & tracking).

9) Commercial Operations Excellence: Manage POSM approvals, customize PICOS by RE, and co-develop pricing & promotion guidelines with strong pre/post promo evaluation and competitive agility.

10) Insights & Strategy Development: Generate and communicate category insights, leveraging advanced data analysis to drive insight-led commercial strategies.

Your Profile

1) 5+ years in Category, Sales, or Shopper/Trade Marketing (preferably FMCG) with strong Sub-Saharan Africa retail and multi-channel knowledge

2) Strong commercial and strategic thinking; able to align brand and channel strategies into execution

3) Advanced data analytics (Nielsen, Rex, Euromonitor) and solid financial analysis skills

4) Customer-centric mindset with ability to identify needs and drive actionable, results-oriented strategies

5) Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills; adaptable, hands-on, energetic, and fluent in English
