ROLE SUMMARY


Role Title : Senior Executive - Corporate Communication

Department : Corporate
Reporting To : General Manager – Corporate Communication

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:


This role will support the Corporate Communications function at Penguin Random House India, with a strong focus on media relations, brand campaigns, internal communications, and business announcements. The candidate will work closely with editorial, marketing, and leadership teams to deliver high-impact communication strategies.

INTERNAL : Marketing & Digital, Leadership & HoD’s, International PRH colleagues, Publisher SEA

EXTERNAL : Media, Literary Festivals


ROLE CONTRIBUTION AREAS

Publicity & Campaign Execution:

  • Lead communications strategy and execution for assigned titles.
  • Plan and implement tailored publicity campaigns in collaboration with authors and editorial teams.
  • Drive media outreach including interviews, op-eds, features, and events.

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media across print, digital, and broadcast.
  • Secure high-quality editorial placements, interviews, and long-form features.
  • Identify new media opportunities to enhance visibility for authors and the brand.

Internal Communications:

  • Execute internal communication initiatives including newsletters, announcements, and engagement campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to ensure alignment and clarity.

Leadership Profiling:

  • Support positioning of leadership as key opinion leaders through media and industry platforms.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for thought leadership.

Business Communications:

  • Draft and execute press releases and external announcements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and media partners for accurate and impactful coverage.
  • Track media coverage and prepare reports.

Awards & Industry Engagement:

  • Manage award submissions across literary and industry platforms.
  • Coordinate with editorial teams to compile materials and ensure timely submissions.
  • Identify new opportunities for recognition and visibility.

ROLE REQUIRMENTS

  • 2 to 4 years in the field of Corporate Communication
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience in media relations and publicity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Prior experience in publishing/media preferred
  • Basic knowledge of social media and digital media
  • Good knowledge of MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
  • Good communication skills and excellent written command in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
