The Bosch unit in Ovar belongs to the Building Technologies division and is focused on bringing solutions to the market that are shaping the smart cities of the future. The company is a leading international provider of systems, solutions and services that increase the safety of people, buildings and property and also contribute to greater comfort, energy efficiency and sustainability. With about 1.200 employees, its success lies in the highly specialized and innovative team and technological know-how.

Currently, the three product areas - Video Systems, Access Control & Intrusion and Communication Systems, as well as the associated cross-divisional functions within the division are to be set up as a new independent company and then further developed as a sustainable core business by a new owner.

As Java Cloud Backend Developer, you will be part of the new company to be set up this year and thus contribute to a globally networked team of +4300 colleagues operating in over 50 countries.

Cloud-based Services is a start-up like business line within Bosch Security Systems focusing on new, Internet of Things-based Services. Innovative web-based applications bring the right services as differentiating and exciting value-add functions to the key user groups – from installers, integrators, security service providers to end-users of our high-tech devices and solutions.

In this role, you will contribute to the mission of delivering ingenious cloud services at scale. Whether building on the Remote Portal platform, working with our technical infrastructure team or highly advanced web-based applications for our key vertical customers and prospects, you help driving product development and act as part of cross-functional teams to define and deliver on the next phase of dynamic cloud services. You apply and further develop your expertise in this innovative engineering field to generate excitement by designing functions and interfaces, user paths and views together with the user-experience team and product responsible of the solution offerings.

Habilitações

Education:

• University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
• Additional qualifications in web-product design and development, interface design or a comparable field of study are advantageous.

Requirements:

• + 3 years in software development with relevant work experience on complex, web-based software products and services, ideally in security environment.
• Experience working in the development context of cloud applications, SaaS, emerging cloud use-cases for web/mobile and enterprise.
• Expertise in Java backend development with a focus on security, using frameworks like Spring and Junit.
• Proficiency in SDLC, SCRUM, and Continuous Delivery practices.
• Experience with REST APIs, HTML, and modern web technologies.
• Skilled in deploying applications on Wildfly and Tomcat, with configuration management using Ansible.
• Strong database knowledge (MySQL) and familiarity with tools like Splunk and Sahi for monitoring and testing.
• Creative and willing to work in an international, agile team.
• You have a drive to apply newest technology, methods, tools and trends in a highly professional and customer value centric development environment.
• English proficiency.
