Job Description
Abstract:
The Product Manager is responsible to define, deploy and communicate the product vision and strategy.
He/she drives the derivation of the roadmap under consideration of market needs and Product Field abilities.
With his/her customer-oriented view, he/she specifies products and features.
He/she is responsible to deliver economical and business data, needed for overall product management.
He/she manages the product live cycle of assigned products.
Tasks:
- Achievement of product related business targets
- Ensures that the product business runs (support of e.g. sales, quality, supply chain, product liability, SAS, FAE)
- Supports definition, deployment and communication of product vision and strategy and derivation of roadmap (aligned with Solution Field vision/roadmap)
- Definition of product content and prioritization of the program backlog, e.g.
- definition of customer and product requirements (epics, features)
- requirements validation at customer as well as eliciting and incorporating feedback
- prioritization of services and product maintenance (if PF-relevant)
- ensure product quality
- Supports definition and approval of project and product content
- Supports Product Field stakeholder management, e.g.
- customer and regional interface for assigned products, product / solution representative at customer (via sales)
- Coordination with other products and solutions (if no solution is available)
- others (e.g. universities, competitors,..)
- Supports definition of business models for PF-related products (e.g. license model, upfront financing, non-recurring engineering costs,…)
- Supports definition and getting approval for budget of product class
- Manages product life cycle of assigned products (e.g. marketing ramp-up, promotion, phase out)
Product Managers align and support the organizational context in the following topics, by providing relevant business information:
- Resource Planning (short, mid and long term)
- Competencies development (short, mid and long term)
- Alignment on strategy
- Feedback on performance and personal development for assigned associates
- Support and participation in HR processes and instruments
- Support and enabling of activities to strengthen skill excellence (e.g. spearing capacity in Solution & Product Fields)
Qualifications
- Advanced domain & business knowledge
- Excellent networking, presentation and communication skills (both written and spoken).
- Strong business background, customer focus and experience working in a business-to-business context.
- Proven experience in interdisciplinary team work and international cooperation.
- Excellent English and German language skills.
- Customer and result-oriented
- Profound expertise of product, market and business value
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset
- Advanced know-how on agile method, technical and product management expertise
- Strong expertise of business management (marketing, sales, controlling, cost-benefit calculation)
- Advanced knowledge of scaling lean and agile, agile methods and mindset (e.g. Kanban, SAFe, Scrum, OKR)
