Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and customer-focused Project Manager to lead the successful execution of customer orders from initial acquisition through to final delivery. This role is critical in ensuring seamless project flow, fostering strong internal and external communication, and driving adherence to critical timelines and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, a natural problem-solver, and possess a keen eye for detail and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Customer Order Management (Monitoring & Execution):
- Take ownership of customer orders from the point of acquisition (purchase order) through to successful delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans & schedules for each customer order.
- Monitor project progress diligently, identifying potential roadblocks and proactively implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all project activities align with customer requirements, internal specifications, and company standards.
- Milestone Monitoring & Interface with Cross-Functional Teams (CFT):
- Define, track, and report on key project milestones and deliverables.
- Act as the primary interface and central point of contact between all involved cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, Finance).
- Facilitate regular CFT meetings to review progress, address challenges, align on next steps, and ensure synchronized efforts.
- Drive accountability across teams to meet established targets and deadlines.
- Proactive Escalation & Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks, issues, and deviations from the plan early.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to prevent or minimize project impact.
- Proactively escalate critical issues to relevant stakeholders and senior management in a timely and structured manner, providing clear information, potential solutions, and recommendations.
- Maintain an escalation matrix and ensure appropriate communication channels are utilized.
- Kick-off Meetings with Internal and External Customers:
- Lead and facilitate comprehensive project kick-off meetings with both internal teams and external customers.
- Clearly define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, roles, and responsibilities during kick-off.
- Establish effective communication protocols and expectations with all project stakeholders from the outset.
- Ensure a shared understanding of project goals and success criteria.
- Design Loading Review and Prioritization:
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to review design workload, resource availability, and project interdependency
- Participate in the prioritization of design tasks to align with overall project timelines and customer commitments.
- Identify and address any potential bottlenecks in the design phase that could impact downstream activities.
- Adherence to Compliance & Quality Standards:
- Ensure all project activities and deliverables strictly adhere to relevant industry regulations, company policies, quality standards (e.g., ISO, specific certifications), and customer contractual obligations.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to embed quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain meticulous project documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech Mechanical with 3 - 6 years of relevant experience
