An overview of the role:

As part of the Digital Engineering team in Invent you will work on high profile, impactful projects with industry leading organisations to helping them to define the journey to transforming the way in which organisations develop and manufacture products and then support and maintain those products throughout their lifecycle.

You will use your knowledge and experience to help our clients understand how they can effectively exploit product lifecycle management to deliver business value through their wider end to end value chain.

The work is varied and you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of client facing projects across multiple industry sectors. Projects may touch on various aspects of the management of products throughout their lifecycle ranging from product design and development, product manufacture and through life product support and maintenance.

You will use technical and business knowledge together with Industry 4.0 and 5.0 concepts to help clients develop the justifications for change together with defining the aspects they need to put in place to realise their ambitions which would cover transformation roadmaps and business cases, operating model design and solution architectures.

You’ll work on projects that transform client’s product design and development processes to deliver sustained improvements across profitability, efficiency, quality and to embed behavioural change. You will regularly work with colleagues from other parts of Capgemini including Engineering, Hybrid Intelligence, Cambridge Consultants to develop compelling and comprehensive propositions for our clients.

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.

  • Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

We’d love to meet someone with:

We’re growing our team and looking for a range of skills and experiences. We’d like to hear from you if you have management consulting experience, have held senior manager roles in Digital Engineering or you are at an earlier stage of your career.

We are looking for entrepreneurial individuals with the knowledge and creativity to deliver truly inventive solutions to our clients.

You’ll bring engineering, product development and new product introduction experience. This could have been gained through operational, technical or leadership roles in industry, or through delivering major consulting assignments for blue-chip consulting organisations.

Depending on the stage you are at in your career, we’re looking for appropriate levels of knowledge and/or experience including one or more of the following areas:

  • Product Lifecycle Management concepts and the capabilities provided by leading PLM toolsets, including BOM Management, EBOM, MBOM etc, Engineering Change Management, variants and configuration
  • Process and capability models for engineering and manufacturing together with an understanding how these can be improved and used to drive value across the end-to-end value chain
  • Knowledge of innovation and product lifecycle management processes and value drivers
  • Business case development
  • Creation of transformation roadmaps and enabling solution architectures
  • Agile and Lean based delivery methods
  • Knowledge of digital twin and digital thread concepts and their practical application for transforming product design and development
  • Working knowledge of relevant platform tools such as Dassault Systèmes 3DX, Siemens Teamcenter, SAP PLM and SAP ERP amongst others
  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery.
  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background.
