YOUR ROLE

Working across a huge spectrum of challenges, you will provide IT consultancy expertise that will transform how our clients conduct their day-to-day business and how they interact with their own customers, streamlining their business processes and enhancing profitability. Understanding how we can support these clients; you will ensure the right apps and technology are in place to exceed their expectations.

You’ll work as part of a scrum team to develop and maintain software solutions.

  • You will use your software engineering passion to write code that makes a difference across a varied client base, which includes both the public and private sectors.
  • You’ll support live systems and applications, implementing bug fixes and exploring improvements through code changes.
  • You’ll take responsibility for components of a much larger system, writing code to complement that which is being developed by colleagues.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM subject
  • A non STEM subject and successfully completed bootcamp with either Code First Girls, Code Your Future, Firebrand, Revolent, Powerup or Power Platform School.
  • Relevant and practical software engineering experience with knowledge of at least one programming language, related frameworks and tools as well as what is involved to write readable, tested code in that language.
  • The ability to convey complex coding concepts in jargon-free language to a non-technical audience.
  • Outstanding communication skills – our clients need to feel confident that you understand their requirements.

YOUR SECURITY CLEARANCE

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.

Note: You will have lived in the UK for the last five years with no more than 6 months out of the country (in order to meet security clearance requirements). You may be required to work away from home during the week after the initial training period.
