An overview of the role:
Our Cloud Transformation Advisory Services enables our clients to transform their business and unlock the value of cloud. We provide value-centric cloud advisory services with sector-specific expertise. Our deep skills in cloud strategy, orchestration, operating models, and cloud economics complimented by global resources help guide clients in their cloud journey and deliver business results. Our cloud advisory capability is part of the wider Enterprise Transformation capability and works closely with other Invent capabilities.
Cloud operating models and DevOps transformation is one of the key capability areas within our cloud advisory unit. We help organisations transform their ways of working to adopt cloud native and hybrid/multi-cloud operating models that truly enable them to unlock the value of cloud computing. We are leading the charge in helping organisations adopt Gen AI enabled developer experience as the core principle of software engineering.
In this high impact role in you will be responsible to leading and growing the cloud operating model & DevOps advisory capability to be the best in class.

Why this role?
As a Director for Cloud Operating Models & DevOps Transformation, you’ll help set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team. Key expectations from this role include:
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team with expertise in cloud operating models and DevOps.
- Lead and deliver client engagements on cloud advisory services.
- Lead the development and delivery of strategic business proposals and pitches that articulate the value proposition of the future operating models for cloud & infrastructure.
- Position yourself and the organisation as thought leaders in the cloud operating models and DevOps space by sharing knowledge through white papers, case studies, webinars, and industry events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, technical, and product teams, to ensure a cohesive approach to client engagement and business development.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by understanding market trends, client needs, and competitive landscape. Leverage insights to expand the client base and drive revenue growth.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at existing and potential client organisations. Act as a trusted advisor, understanding their business challenges and goals.
- Contribute to the growth and success of a top-tier consulting practice including our market offers, knowledge and the overall strategic goals of the practice.
As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:
- Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
- Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
- Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.
We’d love to meet someone with:
- Experience of designing IT and cloud operating models
- Experience in managing operating model transformations.
- Demonstrated experience of designing & establishing cloud CoEs, cloud operations and DevOps practices
- Experience in implementing platform based operating models & designing organisation structures.
- Expertise in ITIL 4, Product/Platform centric operating model & DevOps is essential.
- Experience in IT process design & Lean is desirable.
- The ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Experience in developing and implementing tailored client engagement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Currently working in a major consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a consulting background is desirable.
- Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
- Experience of proposition building and delivery.
- Evidence of practice development, team building and developing more junior colleagues
- Experience of leading successful large-scale, complex transformation delivery engagements
- Ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers
- Being comfortable in a client-facing role, with previously consulting or advisory experience.
