What will you be doing?

As a Business Technical Analyst for Accessibility, you will support the integration of the company's (account) accessibility standards in product development processes, enhancing usability for all users, including those with disabilities. This role is crucial in promoting inclusivity and meeting legal accessibility obligations across Innovation and Products digital channels.

In this specific role, you will join a bustling and collaborative team that leads the digital product discovery and design for a global Quick Service Restaurant – one that feeds 1% of the world’s population every single day. You will play a central role ensuring accessibility standards are implemented (who are as passionate about product as they are burgers and fries). Your product areas might be focused on things like mobile ordering, loyalty, kiosk, crew-facing restaurant technology, or web, just to name a few. This is a hybrid position; three days per week you’ll link up with your team IRL at this global company’s headquarters in Chicago’s burgeoning West Loop.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accessibility Integration and Compliance: Focus on the incorporation of accessibility standards within the development pipeline, ensuring all software products comply with industry standards and Company’s Accessibility Watermarks. Support in conducting accessibility audits and maintaining standards.
  • Collaboration and Advice: Assist Tech Leads and Squads with inquiries and documentation reviews on accessibility. Provide guidance and updates on best practices and latest standards. Offer feedback to the incoming Education Strategist for future education and self-service material.
  • Continuous Learning and Technology Interaction: Stay updated with the latest platform frameworks, tooling, and advancements in assistive technologies.

Key Requirements:

  • Requires minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related technology field.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Accessibility Engineer or front-end developer with experience incorporating accessibility.
  • Some experience with mobile platforms (native iOS and Android applications).
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience working with developers within a version control workflow (Git).
  • Experienced with supporting quality and standard processes in automation and testing.
  • Experienced with building out, maintaining and reporting on defect leakage and compliance conflicts.
  • Understanding of client and server-side rendering.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with Designers and Design Systems.
  • Technical knowledge of UI frameworks and languages like Angular, Next.js, iOS UIKit, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and their implementation in software development.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues within the development pipeline and accessibility implementations.
