A DBT Snowflake Data Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructure using DBT (Data Build Tool) and Snowflake. Here are some key responsibilities and requirements typically found in this role:Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using DBT and Snowflake.
- Data Transformation: Use DBT to define and execute complex data transformations within Snowflake, creating modular SQL scripts for transforming raw data into clean, usable datasets.
- Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Automation: Automate data processing tasks and develop reusable frameworks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize data processing performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Security: Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with data governance policies.
Required Skills:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, particularly with DBT and Snowflake.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, DBT, and Snowflake. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus.
- Tools: Familiarity with DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Data Processing: Experience with big data technologies like Spark, Hive, and Kafka.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
