WHO WE ARE
The Director of Product Management is a strategic and encompassing role that provides overall product vision, product, and market strategies. Cisco Talos Threat Intelligence is the larger commercial threat intelligence team, in this role you will be the unifying force behind Talos’s threat intelligent strategy and execution, combining feedback from sales, marketing, development, architecture, customers, and prospects to set the strategic vision and lead the execution of new features and threat intelligence as a service portfolio.
We are seeking a Director of Product Management to join us in defining the future of Security Services in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up-like environment! You will work with Customers, Legal, other product groups, Sales UX, Engineering, Marketing, and other functions to define, enhance, and evolve our cybersecurity services portfolio. Your responsibilities will include the development and Integration of threat intelligence into Security Operation Centers tools like SIEM, SOAR, and XRD to drive superior security efficacy and reduce time to mitigation. Your responsibilities will be end to end, from problem discovery and user story refinement, all the way through to delivering impactful solutions that customers love.
We are looking for someone who can work effectively in a cross-functional team structure to derive adoption and cross-development of capabilities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Director of Product Management leads technological and business innovation with practical solutions that tackle real customer problems creating sustainable software and services-based business for the company, you will work in close cooperation with other product leaders, threat researchers, and Sales to drive business to meet and exceed bookings targets.
- Responsible for driving a roadmap that balances cost-velocity quality such that customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and the BU's business and financial goals are met.
- Evangelize the BU's products and solutions reinforcing industry leadership in terms of product and market share.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to other product management teams to drive collaborative and effective development and synergy.
- Build and manage the overall product management process and lead all aspects of its effective execution.
- Drive the enablement of field sales and services teams such that sales and deployment of threat intelligence meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Coordinate and partner with Cisco Services to enable simplified deployment strategies that require less on-the-fly product customization.
- Spearhead initiatives to work across BU's on pricing/licensing combined offers that help Cisco to differentiate and move toward software-based solution offers while incentivizing increased sales.
WHO YOU ARE
- Technical Acuity: You will work closely with Incident Response teams, threat researchers, and sales to understand needs and trade-offs and their impact on the SOC. Being comfortable with Security Operations, threat hunting, Incident response teams, and security technologies (SIEM, SOAR, XDR) is an asset.
- Strong analytical and critical thinker with the ability to solve sophisticated problems.
- Experience leading teams and defining strategies to achieve successful results within desired timeframes.
- Excellent communication skills - extensive experience with presenting data-supported cases to top executives.
- Ability to quickly get up to speed with complex new topic areas, and capable of driving insight to tangible action plans.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to think-end-to-end and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Experienced in the cybersecurity SaaS space, understand customer needs, expectation and the competitive landscape for key technologies like: IPS, DNS, URL, AV, sandboxing, CASB, DLP, RBI etc.,
- Prior experience with full life cycle management of security subscription as an attached offering.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- 3+ years’ experience as a product management leader in the Cyber Security space.
- 8+ years of work experience in product management and/or software engineering or related field.
- Prior experience leading teams and/or managers of product or product leads.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Growth mind-set of diving into new areas and quickly developing a strong point of view.
- Demonstrable experience in establishing organizational objectives and priorities and for ensuring the performance and results of one or more areas in the SaaS or Cyber Security space.
- Prior experience in building product road maps for Cyber Security products.
- Expertise in building decision frameworks that help make objective investment calls.
- Mastery in building quick credibility with customers and partners on complex topics.
- Problem solving approach and a can-do attitude.
- Strategic, critical but creative problem solver with strong business sense.
- Ability to work within cross-functional team environments.
- Experience defining epics and writing user stories.
- Skilled in design thinking and UX/UI methodologies.
- Masters' degree or +12 years of experience or a PhD +8 years of experience is strongly preferred.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
