This is a critical role that requires your knowledge and expertise to help drive the delivery of a 1st class Software Asset Management service for Cisco.
As a SAM Ops Business Analyst on our team, you will be collaborating closely with the Software Asset Management team members and internal customers to provide detailed information about Cisco’s software assets. Daily tasks consist of performing license reviews, handling software requests via our internal tools and providing advice and guidance around software licensing and procurement to colleagues and business users. No two days will be the same.
What You’ll Do?
- Build software entitlement baseline metrics enabling effective license positions for detailed analysis of our compliance position and license optimization opportunities to drive risk mitigation and cost avoidance.
- You will highlight opportunities for re-harvesting of software licenses and rationalization of software.
- Support implementation of best practices and industry standards for software asset management and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all software inventory data collected is correct and trustworthy.
- Maintain day-to-day Software Asset Management operational tasks.
- Build strong relationships with customers.
- Participate in Agile processes.
Who you’ll work with?
- The Software Asset Management Leader, Software Asset Management Team members and various internal customers across all business units within Cisco.
- External and internal application owners of software.
- Leaders of the Application Advisory Board and Commercial Excellence Board.
Who are you?
- Experience in a Software Asset Management role or similar in a large organization.
- Tier 1 software vendor experience such as – Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, and Oracle.
- 4+ years of experience in Software Asset Management or similar roles with self-developed analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and highly organized with a structured approach.
- The ability to produce high-level reports using data from various sources that contain purchasing, licensing, and compliance information.
- You will have a thorough understanding of software licensing types, terms, and conditions of use including End User License Agreements to ensure that Cisco remains software compliant within its contractual terms.
- Flexera experience is desirable.
- Experience in working in an Agile environment with Jira experience is a plus.
- Self-motivated and the ability to learn quickly.
When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
