Full stack data engineer Job Description

As a Full Stack Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing data solutions on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Your responsibilities will span across both front-end and back-end development, enabling data-driven decision-making within our organization. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to create and maintain data pipelines, storage solutions, and data processing workflows.

You need to design and oversee the development of GenAI applications, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence platform that leverages natural language processing, computer vision, and machine learning to provide smart solutions for various business problems.

Responsibilities

1. Data Solution Design and Implementation:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement data pipelines, ensuring efficient data flow from various sources to data warehouses or data lakes.
• Develop and maintain data storage solutions using Azure services such as Azure Data explorer, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage etc.
• Optimize data storage systems for scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

2. Data Integration and ETL:

• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from diverse sources into our data ecosystem.
• Utilize tools like Azure Data Factory to create robust data integration processes.
• Cleanse, convert, and load data efficiently, ensuring data quality and consistency.

3. Big Data and Analytics:

• Handle large volumes of data using big data technologies like Azure Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Create data processing workflows and pipelines to support data analytics, machine learning, and other data-driven applications.

4. Full Stack Development:

• Work across the entire technology stack, from front-end to back-end.
• Build scalable and distributed solutions that enhance user experiences and drive business growth.
• Develop new features, infrastructure, and internal systems.

5. Thought Leadership and Mentorship:

• Provide guidance and mentorship to developer teams, helping them build their cloud competencies.
• Define best practices and strategies for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or PhD. Computer Science, Data Science, Management Engineering, MBA or similar preferred

• At least 5 years of Full stack application development experience, preferably in enterprise applications
• Certification in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate etc).
• Proficiency in full stack development, including both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Experience with data management, ETL processes, and big data analytics.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services for data storage, integration, and processing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
