The Cloud Solution Architect defines the technical solution design of specific IT platforms and provides guidance to the squad members in order to design, build, test and deliver high quality software solutions with a specific focus on cloud environment. A key element in this context is translation of functional and non-functional business requirements into an appropriate technical solution design, leveraging best practices, consistent design patterns and cloud product features. The Cloud Solution Architect collaborates in the Agile organization closely with Product Owners, Chapter leads and Squad members to ensure consistent adherence to the agreed-upon application design and is responsible for maintaining an appropriate technical design documentation. The Cloud Solution Architect ensures that the architectures and designs of solutions conform to the principles blueprints, standards, patterns etc, that have been established by the Enterprise Architecture – in this context the solution architect is closely collaborating with the respective Enterprise Architect to ensure architecture compliance. The Cloud Solution Architect also contributes to the definition and enrichment of design patterns and standards with the aim to leverage those across squads and tribes and also actively contributes in the implementation of Proof of Concepts in the early stage of projects.

This role is based in Milan with an hybrid working approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solve complex problems, reviewing existing architecture landscape, and producing fit for purpose Target Solution Architecture

• Ensure that the solution design is in sync with target architecture blueprints and principles, as well as with overarching Deutsche Bank architecture and security standards.

• Create appropriate technical design documentation and ensure this is kept up-to-date.

• Provide guidance to the squad members to design, build, test and deliver high quality software solutions in line with business requirements

• Is responsible for all aspects of the solution architecture (i.e. maintainability, scalability, effective integration with other solutions, usage of shared solutions and components where possible, optimization of the resource consumption etc. ) with the object to meet the appropriate balance between business needs and total cost of ownership

• Present architecture proposals to relevant forums along with Enterprise Architect at different levels and drive the process to gain the necessary architecture approvals.

Collaborate with relevant technology stakeholders within other squads and across tribes to ensure cross-squad and cross-tribe solution architecture synchronization and alignment

• Contribute to definition and enrichment of appropriate design patterns and standards that can be leveraged across squads / tribes

• Contribute to peer level solution architecture reviews e.g. within a respective chapter

• Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary

Experience & Desired Skillset

• Experience in leading architecture and design in a distributed agile environment for cloud-based solutions

• Experience with Cloud technologies, architectural design including logical, conceptual, and cloud infrastructure is advantageous

• Knowledge of best practices, trends and solutions - a comprehensive understanding of current and emerging cloud technologies that can be used to gain competitive advantage

• Proven first class architecture skills with appropriate, but pragmatic, process management skills applied with rigor and structure

• Experience with DevOps tools and practices for supporting CI/CD pipelines and automations

• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity

• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-country multidisciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, architects, and subject-matter experts

• Fluency in Italian and English, other languages are a plus

Preferred skills and qualifications

• STEM bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

• Experience working in agile organization

• GCP certification (or similar cloud environment)

• Direct experience with containerized environment (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)

• Working knowledge in an API-driven ecosystem, API design and development

• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs new and existing configuration management with infrastructure as code approach (Terraform as the preferred platform)
