Overview
Deutsche Bank has set for itself ambitious goals in the areas of Sustainable Finance, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Risk Mitigation as well as Corporate Sustainability.
As Climate Change throws new Challenges and opportunities, the Bank has set out to invest in developing a Sustainability Technology Platform, Sustainability data products and various sustainability applications which will aid Bank’s goals by building an exciting global team of technologists who are passionate about Climate Change, want to contribute to greater good leveraging their Technology Skillset in multiple areas predominantly in Cloud / Hybrid Architecture.
As a Backend Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will play a pivotal role in building middleware backend as well as upstream/downstream system integrations, hands-on development, unit testing, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) deployment of multiple microservices based workflow and reporting applications. We are seeking engineers who can significantly impact the time-to-market for our sustainability application stack while maintaining high quality and robustness. You will also collaboratively build upstream/downstream Enterprise Integrations, integrate with myriad systems leveraging experience and expertise in Enterprise Integration and related design patterns and build flexible system behavior leveraging BPM-based workflows and associated design patterns is essential.

What You’ll Do
Contribute individually to project success in terms of Backend, middleware and system integration related development involving microservices, event driven system integrations and Structured Query Language (SQL)/NoSQL databases, and design application programming interfaces (APIs) for an API-first platform, ensuring seamless support for primary user interface (UI) implementation(s)
Hybrid Cloud Adaptation: You will work with a hybrid cloud architecture, necessitating flexibility in learning new technologies
Hybrid Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions will replace or coexist with some technologies currently available exclusively on-premise, in addition to GCP Solutions: Provide solutions that leverage GCP, as it is crucial to fully exploit the benefits of our proposed cloud strategy
Code Reviews and Best Practices: Participate in code reviews and contribute to evolving best practices for better maintainability, security, observability, reuse, and modular development
Assist in tool and platform documentation from both technology and operations perspectives, as well as lead the exploration and implementation of innovative backend solutions using GCP services to optimize our technology stack
Mentor and Individual Contribution: Mentor teams in technology, design, and architecture, while continuously evaluating and recommending improvements to our backend development processes and infrastructure, considering the optimal use of GCP
Skills You’ll Need
Extensive experience in backend development with a proven track record of leading and delivering successful backend projects in both GCP and on-premise environments and expertise in backend programming languages and frameworks with a focus on GCP integration capabilities
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and a solid grasp of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
Must to have technology skills - Microservices and related Desing Patterns, JDK 11+, SpringBoot Middleware, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Concurrency, Enterprise Intengration and related design patterns, MyBatis/JPA, Mockito, Junit,SQL, Oracle/postgres Database, Java Message Service (JMS), GCP fundamentals
Knowledge of Sustainable Finance / environmental, social, and governance (ESG) Risk / CSRD / Regulatory Reporting will be a plus
Experience in infrastructure automation and DevOps principles on GCP and with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for GCP deployments will be a plus

Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
