Role Description

Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for ensuring testing strategies, plans and deliverables are executed for all applications and programmes of work within their domain. Work includes:

  • Designing and conducting testing procedures and frameworks to verify software and other technical products to ensure expected functional performance
  • Investigating instances where software and technical products do not perform as expected Designing and conducting quality assurance practises to support business development activities
  • Driving the adoption of recognised best practice and policy and contributes to the ongoing improvement of methodologies and assets for the business
  • Working with their counterparts across the business to raise the standard of QA across the bank
  • Recording of defects and the collation of metrics and KPI information for reporting purposes
  • Testing disciplines include: Performance Testing, Test Automation, Test Processes, Testing Products

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple business and technology driven deliverables front to back within the existing tech stack and produce tangible outcomes consistently.
  • Provide testing and implementation leadership to direct team and extended teams as applicable.
  • Partner with agile teams, business counterparts to lead the testing strategy and approach for key regulatory and non-regulatory deliverables.
  • Align the test strategy with the overarching product roadmap and actively look for ways to simplify and automate testing.
  • Collaborate with tech partners to further integrate testing in early development lifecycle thereby minimising the need for extensive testing in last stages prior to production deployment.
  • Support and contribute to the project and release management best practices for your workstream, fostering collaboration across the department.
  • Simplification and consolidation of test environments across the product stack, identify areas of concerns and remediate gaps with front to back test environments strategy.
  • Effectively manage multiple stakeholder groups from both technology and business across front office, tech stack and end user groups.
  • Constantly be on top of test automation initiatives to help create a front to back test automation suite spanning multiple technologies.
  • Perform execution of tests to meet various business and regulatory change validation.

Your Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years in the industry (preferably market risk) with extensive direct experience in managing large testing programmes.
  • Hands on experience in Unix and SQL, sound knowledge on Hadoop technologies.
  • Good experience in Test and process automation. Knowledge in CI/CD tools would be ad added advantage.
  • Knowledge on Google Cloud Platform is preferable.
  • Selenium knowledge is preferred
  • Good knowledge on market risk fundamentals with exposure to regulatory programmes like FRTB and Stress testing.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues.
  • Ability to visualise things end to end and understand from both tech and business point of view.
  • Willingness to be hands on as required.
  • Able to understand complex large distributed systems and be able to troubleshoot issues
  • Strong SDLC and dev tools knowledge is preferred
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s university degree.
