Job Title: QA Engineer – Test Manager

Location: Pune, India

Role Description

The QA & Testing Lead Engineer defines and manages teams, testing strategies, plans and deliverables related to testing within specific applications and programs of work on a global basis. The QA & Testing Lead Engineer takes a lead role in the establishment or execution of one or more test specialties for a larger testing unit or program. The QA & Testing Lead Engineer will manage and drive the adoption of recognized best practice and policy and contribute to the ongoing improvement of methodologies and assets in one or more of the following QA & Testing disciplines:

  • Performance Testing
  • Test Automation
  • Test Processes
  • Testing Products

Alternately the Lead QA and Testing Principal Engineer may possess or demonstrate specialist Business Testing knowledge or exceptional business/functional expertise that helps to define and drive the strategic and tactical direction of the testing practice. They will work with the QA & Testing Principal Engineer to ensure delivery of technical/process solutions that adhere to the Bank’s standards and industry best practice.

Your key responsibilities

  • Design and discuss your own solution for addressing user stories and tasks.
  • Analyses system requirements and designs suitable automation/performance test strategies.
  • Creates ‘best of breed’ framework/harnesses for automation/performance testing.
  • Ownership of specialist testing activities at a program level.
  • Cross leverages proven test practices and identifies opportunities for further standardization, leveraging central testing services where possible.
  • Provides subject matter expertise, drives direction and/or leads creation, sign-off and implementation of the testing strategy and plans.
  • Creates test data, writing and ownership of test cases.
  • Where applicable, ownership of UAT activities related to the area of business specialism.
  • Documents test summary and provision of product improvement suggestions. Communicates the results.
  • Manages key stakeholder expectations and delivers against agreed standards.
  • Tailor’s process/frameworks aligned to business area need to ensure and leverage increased test efficiency.
  • Work in conjunction with QA & Testing professionals to provide expert QA and Testing leadership or direction/oversight to review and understand business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Champions activities and establishes best practices in specialist area, working to implement best of breed test practices and processes in area of specialism.
  • Champions and participates in the activities of the broader QA & Testing community.
  • Contribute to planning and continuous improvement activities & support PO, ITAO, Developers and Scrum Master.

Your skills and experience

  • Accountability for all aspects of Test Delivery covering all Change activities with in DFS domain.
  • Well versed with Test execution, defect tracking, performance testing
  • Develop and manage automation test harnesses.
  • Experience in HIVE, Hadoop Python, Spark technical areas.
  • Knowledge on SAS Mainframe will be an added advantage.
  • Good Knowledge about the core SDLC processes and tools such as HP ALM, Jira
  • Support all phases of testing like UAT, VPT, OAT, Pen Test etc.
  • Proven experience leading testing teams.
  • Customer and service orientation to support interaction with senior stakeholders and team resources and clients.
  • Performance and productivity-oriented to drive quality testing outcomes and results within Deutsche Bank Testing practice.
  • Experience of defining and driving technical solutions which contribute to improved test strategy and delivery.
  • Experience of reporting, planning, and resourcing across multiple projects.
  • Experience of coordinating and leveraging test related services such as environment, automation, and performance.
  • Experience of implementing process improvement across the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Understanding of Quality Frameworks and Management.
  • Previous program and project management experience.
  • Proven experience with Risk Management and Control policies and procedures.
  • Previous experience working effectively in globally diverse teams and matrix organizations.
  • Holds self and others accountable for achieving results that embody the principles of diversity and Deutsche Bank’s values.
  • Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to co-operate with a variety of people and achieve results.
  • Several years proven and demonstrated specialist industry knowledge.
  • Ability to influence and indirectly lead/provide thought leadership on subject matter specialism.
  • Ability to share information, transfer knowledge to expertise the team members.
