Job Purpose

Lead and manage the end-to-end transportation operations within the retail supply chain to ensure the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods across the distribution network. Drive operational excellence, service reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives that support store performance, customer satisfaction, and overall business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily transportation operations, ensuring on‑time deliveries, service quality, and optimal route performance across retail distribution channels. Manage third‑party logistics providers and internal fleets, ensuring compliance with performance standards, safety protocols, and service-level agreements. Analyze transportation KPIs (OTIF, cost per mile, route efficiency, carrier performance) and implement action plans to improve results. Lead initiatives to optimize routes, vehicle utilization, delivery schedules, and cost structures within the retail network. Ensure full compliance with transportation regulations, safety requirements, and company policies. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Supply Chain, Inventory, Stores, Operations) to align distribution strategies with retail needs and seasonal demand. Manage budgets, cost controls, and contract negotiations with carriers and service providers. Implement technology-driven improvements using TMS, telematics, and data visibility tools to enhance operational efficiency. Build, lead, and develop high‑performing transportation teams focused on problem‑solving, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

Professionals with proven experience managing transportation operations in the retail sector or high‑volume distribution environments. Strong analytical and strategic thinkers with the ability to balance operational detail and long‑term planning. Leaders experienced in fleet management, 3PL coordination, route optimization, and logistics cost control. Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices in retail logistics. Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), telematics, and digital tools for operational monitoring. Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑demand operations with a strong commitment to service levels and continuous improvement.
