Unleash your Potential. Make a Difference

We are DHL Freight - a group of 13,000 road cargo experts and Certified Freight Specialists operating in more than 40 countries, who are proud to provide their customers with the best overland freight transport solutions. We are always looking ahead to the next commercial opportunity, anticipating the next global trend. Because at DHL Freight, we're not simply about freight forwarding. We're about forward thinking ways to connect people - and improve their lives.

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Commercial & Master Data team in Bonn.

Your Role

As a member of the Global Requirements Management, Commercial & Master Data team, you will own end-to-end requirements across commercial and master data domains - from gap analysis and user story authoring through to UAT and deployment. Our team operates a 6-pillar strategy on EVO, DHL Freight's unified system landscape active across 30+ countries. What makes this role distinctive is your ability to work with data at depth: you will own the Knowledge Management pillar, drive data-backed requirements, and deliver analytical insight that directly supports revenue impact initiatives. You bridge the gap between business process ownership and data intelligence - making the invisible visible, and the complex actionable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and EWM user stories.
  • Own the Knowledge Management pillar: maintain the team Wiki, SOPs, Playbooks, and process documentation to a consistent standard.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews for gap analysis, process improvement, and country alignment.
  • Lead and support change initiatives, coordinating with implementation teams and country nominated experts.
  • Prepare and execute UAT, test scenarios, and post-deployment validation.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards supporting tariff, pricing, and operational performance reporting, as well as master data quality, completeness, and exception monitoring.
  • Extract, cleanse, and analyse large-scale datasets (SQL, Python) to identify revenue leakage, support pricing and tariff optimisation, and surface master data defects and completeness gaps across commercial and MDM domains.
  • Automate recurring reporting processes to eliminate manual effort and improve data reliability.
  • Document analysis logic, automation tools, and data processes for team-wide reuse.
  • Support revenue impact initiatives through data analysis, scenario modelling, and structured findings.
  • Monitor and report on master data health across EVO – identifying data quality issues, missing configurations, and object lifecycle gaps across customer, supplier, and operational master data.
  • Support MDM data governance through structured analysis: validate data standards compliance, flag anomalies, and provide data-backed input to remediation efforts.

Your Profile

  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, or Business Process Expert - ideally in logistics or a comparable operational environment.
  • Strong SQL skills - complex queries, large datasets, performance-aware writing.
  • Proficiency in Power BI - dashboard design, data modelling, automated reporting.
  • Python proficiency for data processing, cleansing, and task automation.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, IT system requirements, and master data management principles – including data object ownership, data quality governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Appreciation for data quality and master data governance – ability to reason about data completeness, correctness, and lifecycle in a complex system landscape.
  • Structured and precise approach to documentation - you leave things better than you found them.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to translate data into business decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage concurrent priorities in a multinational environment.
  • Strong written and spoken English at professional level.
