For any issues related to telecommunication/security systems within the DHL Group environment, you are our superhero. The same applies when it comes to managing, proposing and implementing all necessary changes to production security devices in all IT Services Data Centers and premises, providing global availability to key DHL Group services.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. BAU (Business-As-Usual) Operations
- Perform daily monitoring of SAP systems, including system health, performance, logs, work processes, and interfaces.
- Manage transport management, batch jobs, system refreshes, and routine housekeeping tasks.
- Handle SAP kernel upgrades, parameter tuning, and performance optimization to maintain system stability.
- Manage vulnerability assessments, review security advisories, and ensure timely remediation of SAP-related security gaps.
- Execute SAP Patch Day activities, including application of SAP Security Notes, Support Packages, and Hotfix Collections.
- Ensure ongoing security compliance with organizational and industry standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR, ISO, internal audit).
- Database Administration (HANA / Oracle / MaxDB):
- Perform DB installation, upgrades, patching, backup/restore, log management, and performance tuning.
- Monitor DB growth, table compression, column store maintenance, and index management.
- Support HANA system replication, failover, storage snapshot operations, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Manage Oracle RMAN backups, tablespace administration, and performance troubleshooting.
- Handle MaxDB administration tasks such as backup/restore, log segment handling, and catalog maintenance.
- Operating Systems:
- Strong hands-on knowledge across Linux (SUSE/RHEL), Windows Server, and UNIX environments.
- Perform OS-level troubleshooting, file system management, OS patching coordination, and resource
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes according to ITIL/ITSM practices.
2. SAP Upgrade & Migration Activities
- Lead and execute SAP system upgrades, enhancement pack implementations, SPS patches, and kernel updates.
- Perform end‑to‑end SAP migrations (including OS/DB migrations and HANA migrations).
- Conduct Unicode conversions, system copies, and system architecture redesign activities when needed.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure smooth cutovers and minimal downtime.
- Prepare technical documentation, landscape diagrams, and migration strategies.
3. SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform)
- Administer and monitor SAP BTP subaccounts, global accounts, entitlements, and service provisioning.
- Manage Cloud Foundry environments, SAP Integration Suite, Workflow Management, and other BTP services.
- Support integrations between on‑premise SAP systems and SAP BTP using Cloud Connectors.
- Ensure security, roles, and connectivity setups align with organizational standards.
4. SAP ALM & Cloud Technologies
- Implement and support SAP Application Lifecycle Management tools (Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM).
- Configure monitoring dashboards, business process monitoring, and automated alerting.
- Support DevOps-related automation across SAP landscapes using cloud-native tools and CI/CD strategies.
- Coordinate activities in cloud-hosted SAP environments such as RISE with SAP, Azure and AWS.
- Ensure compliance with cloud governance, security policies, and system scalability requirements.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance
- Work with functional, development, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver stable and optimized SAP operations.
- Provide expert guidance during architecture discussions, roadmap planning, and technology evaluations.
- Document processes, SOPs, technical configurations, migration runbooks, and knowledge articles.
- Mentor junior Basis team members and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Ready to embark on the journey? Here’s what we are looking for:
- 6 –10+ years of hands-on SAP Basis experience.
- Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, SAP HANA administration, and Fiori.
- Proven expertise in SAP upgrades, migrations, SPS updates, and system refreshes.
- Deep understanding of SAP BTP, SAP Cloud ALM, and cloud integration.
- Experience working on cloud-hosted SAP systems (RISE / Azure / AWS).
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
