Responsibilities

About SD

The Solutions Design department is a specialized team in the logistics industry responsible for tailoring logistics solutions for clients. Their core mission is to design the most efficient and cost-effective supply chain and logistics operations based on the client’s needs, industry characteristics, and business objectives.

Main responsibilities

  • Leads a team to develop and implement warehousing & transport solutions and commercial strategies to meet market and client demands
  • Translate customer requirements and bid strategies into actionable project plans
  • Plan and optimize resource allocation across multiple high-priority projects
  • Collaborate closely with sales and business development teams to deliver effective solutions and drive performance
  • Leverage global tools and cost models to ensure high-quality, cost-efficient solutions
  • Provide technical guidance on complex or high-risk projects
  • Lead continuous improvement of design processes and promote best practices
  • Identify skill gaps and support team development through training and mentoring
  • Foster strong cross-functional partnerships and maintain key stakeholder relationships
  • Champion warehousing and transport innovation- in the areas of automation robotics and mechanisation

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years of supply chain / warehousing/ transport experience in a commercial, customer-centric, or solutions-focused organization
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing professional-level team members

Key Skills & Expertise:

  • Team management- leading and guiding a professional team for required outputs in a high pressure environment
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing operations & warehouse management systems. Including layout (CAD), cost modelling & pricing for warehouse solutions
  • Comfortable with complex data sets; translating them into insights and solution concept needs
  • Proven ability to translate customer requirements into value-driven solutions
  • Experience with product development, operational costing, and cost modeling
  • Knowledge of warehouse automation & mechanization – operational design and functionality
  • Sector knowledge in the technology, retail & life science & retail market is a strong advantage
