Warehouse Technician
Role Purpose:
Responsible for the accurate picking of materials, inspection, cleaning, packaging, assembly, quality control, handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials, storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet company standards for safety, security, quality control, and productivity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Load, unload, and/or hand pick freight on pallets, conveyors, and/or in trailers efficiently and safely.
- Move product to storage and assembly areas with proper material handling equipment, such as powered pallet jacks or forklifts, and efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate area and according to HAZ requirements.
- Assemble components and produce quality work, free from errors. Sort, recoup, pack, mark, and label materials. Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation.
- Perform daily quality assurance activities and shelf life management processes as required or directed by management.
- Demonstrate proactive approach to daily manufacturing issues, with the ability to respond in a positive manner to pressures caused by equipment and raw materials related situations.
- Promote and support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing group.
- Identify and properly handle items that require special processing or separation (e.g. hazardous material)
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure production goals are met.
- Participate in physical inventories and note count variances/discrepancies.
- Perform general housekeeping maintenance.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- 0 to 12 months experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing setting, preferred.
