- Lead the sub-function on a country level
- Establish and implement strategies that have short to long-term (1-5 years) impact on business results in alignment with global and functional objectives
- Formulate airfreight operations strategy in line with country business strategy and requirements, global guidelines and policies.
- Lead planning and implementation of airfreight operations plans, measures and budgets to achieve operational results driving profitability, volume growth and service expansion.
- Develop plans, organize and control large country projects and initiatives to provide fast, reliable, efficient and affordable airfreight operations solutions
- Lead effective airfreight operations management through end-to-end capacity management, optimization of network procurement, implementation of consolidation opportunities, etc.
- Oversee and take decisions for operation sites, procurement of capacity, technical support (buying, capacity, etc.) and local purchasing in country according to global policy.
- Monitor and act on preferred carrier usage and related incentive deals in the country.
- Steer market profiling and customer/ competitor research and analysis activities to understand and identify market opportunities and challenges.
- Define effective pricing strategies to sustain profitable growth, and guide identification and implementation of new products within country and provide input on solution design and service elements.
- Liaise with sales to support interaction with key customers and provide pricing and margin guidance, support on bids, RFQs and customer presentations.
- Set and monitor implementation to compliance standards, procedures and specifications for the country in line with global guidelines
- Benchmark and embed best in class infrastructure and practices for airfreight operations at the country level.
- Uses available tools to proactively monitor and improve performance
- Conduct regular dialogues with team to review quality and performance levels vs targets
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Airfreight Operations.
- Strong Organizational skills – Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, and execute on assigned deliverables
- Results-oriented - Knows how to achieve commercial drive in the workplace and has a strong sense of business acumen.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentations)
- Proficient computer skills: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
