Grow together
At the core of our mission is clearing shipments with Customs authorities, supporting high‑volume, mission‑critical clearance processes across multiple EU countries. As Team Manager – DCE EU, you will lead a team of highly skilled colleagues across solution consulting, engineering, delivery, and support functions, ensuring stable production operations and controlled change delivery for the EU clearance landscape.
The team designs, implements, and operates clearance platforms and services, including the DHL Clearance Engine (DCE) and related integrations with upstream and downstream logistics systems. The role spans run, change, and transformation, ensuring predictable delivery while safeguarding production stability.
You will be accountable for delivery governance, resource planning, and stakeholder alignment, working closely with regional business stakeholders, Global Head Office, vendors, and internal IT functions to ensure consistent execution of clearance solutions in line with enterprise standards.
Your Impact
You will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of DCE EU services. This includes influencing delivery roadmaps, establishing governance and execution standards, guiding prioritization and investment decisions, and partnering closely with Operations, Product Owners, Architecture, and Security to ensure alignment with enterprise and regional priorities.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will represent the Clearance domain in cross‑functional and regional forums, driving clarity, decision‑making, and alignment across multiple teams and geographies.
Leadership first
A solid understanding of enterprise IT delivery and platform operations is expected, with exposure to clearance, logistics, or regulated environments being an advantage. However, the core requirement for this role is the proven people leadership experience.
We embrace a leadership philosophy: as a manager, you empower your team, support professional growth, remove obstacles, and guide teams in non‑technical areas, while enabling subject‑matter experts to lead technical discussions and solution design. You will balance accountability for outcomes with trust in your team’s expertise.
Operational collaboration
Your team will work closely with Operation and Support teams responsible for daily clearance execution and incident handling. You will be responsible for prioritizing demand, planning enhancements, coordinating delivery, and ensuring effective handling of critical or time‑sensitive situations impacting customs clearance operations.
You will operate within a large, interconnected IT ecosystem, where collaboration across regions, vendors, and internal delivery units is essential. The clearance platforms integrate with multiple internal and external systems, requiring strong coordination, impact awareness, and disciplined change management.

Great Team
Hi, my name is Chua Soo Yaw, and I am the Subdomain Head of Customs Clearance. I started my career at DHL IT Services in 2014, when I took on a role as Senior Project Manager in the OCNT Containerization team. I have always been fascinated by gaining more hands-on experience with network operations in facilities. Over the years, I progressed through the organization, and in early 2023 I became Subdomain Head of Customs Clearance. Together with the strong support of a multinational and diverse team, we are working toward our common ambition: keeping DHL secure. Looking forward to having you onboard!
