Key Responsabilities

· Develops the Flight Operations general policies and procedures according to the Airline General Manager’s guidelines.
· Adapts the Company’s Air Operation to the regulatory demands established by the International Air Regulations, Guatemala regulations and the company’s needs. In addition, arranges whatever is convenient in order to maintain the highest degree of services offered by the Company.
· Obtains the maximum load factor, complying with strict safety regulations, and route structures.
·Coordinates flight operations, making the necessary decisions for the rational usage of the company’s flight equipment, performing the operational adjustments needed to provide an efficient service.
·Supervises that all the operations are performed in a safety, economic, and rational manner, ensuring its continuous compliance to the progresses obtained in the aeronautical field.
· Directs and controls that all of the operations performed, during the flight and in the ground, are in accordance to the most severe technical procedures.
·Supervises the basic instruction and training requirements for crewmembers and ground personnel in order to achieve uniformity of procedures, updating and improvement of safety efficiency standards.
·Maintains the Company General Manager informed about the compliance with operational standards and issues (take-offs, cancellations, delays, occupational factor, etc).
·Responsible for the General Operations Manual and all other technical manuals, maintains them updated, approves their revisions, and distributes them to the related personnel.
· Evaluates the performance of Operations personnel and make recommendations regarding their distribution and utilization.
§ Prepares documents and operational forms, determine the needs, providing an average and opportune supply to the Operations units.
§ Establishes necessary rules for the adequate handling of Company mail and company material, assuring its efficient and timely transportation.
§ Obtains, classifies, copies and distributes all necessary technical information for the correct planning and development of flight operations.
§ Distributes the Jeppessen Manuals and related information to Operations personnel that are employed in the Company’s air operations.
§ Prepares above mentioned documents and forward them abroad for their distribution among personnel that are employed in the Company’s air operations.
§ Issues manuals, bulletins, circulars, instructions and orders related to his area of responsibility, making sure that they fit within the Company rules and that they not infringe the provisions of the Civil Aeronautical Authority of Guatemala.
§ Maintains close contact with the Civil Aeronautical Authority, with companies specialized in aeronautical publications and with the manufacturers of equipment utilized by the Company in its flight operations.
§ Submits all documents required by the Guatemala AAC or any other aeronautical authority from any country where the Company is operating and comply with the demanded requirements such as over flight and landing permits, release rules and requirements, etc.
· Maintains close relation and communication with the respective AAC, Flight Standards Offices and any related entities.
· Maintains a close relationship with all company station officers in the countries where the airplanes operate, according to the Operational Vigilance Programs stated by their Regulatory Authorities, regarding situations that involve procedures, methods, training, re-training, and certifications.
· Identifies plans and develops the department’s Training needs according to the ICAO, AAC and FAA Regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • University studies (not mandatory)
  • ATP license
  • FAA license (not mandatory)
  • Knowledge of Civil Aviation Law and regulations
  • Proficiency in the English language – Level 5
  • Leadership skills focused on respect and results
  • Good interpersonal relationships and teamwork skills
  • Solid knowledge of CIS culture
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Accustomed to working under pressure
  • Must hold a U.S. visa
