About the Role
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the implementation of H&S strategy, working closely with business leaders to embed best practice, ensure compliance, and continuously improve safety performance across operational and corporate environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and implement DHL’s Health & Safety strategy aligned with business goals and global standards
  • Develop and execute H&S operational plans, initiatives, and budgets
  • Drive safety improvement projects across the organisation
  • Ensure compliance with all NZ health and safety legislation and internal standards
  • Identify hazards and implement effective risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • Lead incident investigations, audits, and corrective action processes
  • Establish and maintain safety standards, frameworks, and tools
  • Develop and oversee emergency response and evacuation procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections across operational and administrative facilities
  • Deliver safety training, coaching, and awareness programmes
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to strengthen safety outcomes
About You
You are a confident and influential safety leader with strong operational experience and a passion for protecting people.
What you’ll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or related discipline
  • 6+ years’ experience in Health & Safety roles, ideally in logistics, transport, or operations
  • Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Proven experience in audits, investigations, and safety management systems
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and training delivery skills
