About the Role
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the implementation of H&S strategy, working closely with business leaders to embed best practice, ensure compliance, and continuously improve safety performance across operational and corporate environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and implement DHL’s Health & Safety strategy aligned with business goals and global standards
- Develop and execute H&S operational plans, initiatives, and budgets
- Drive safety improvement projects across the organisation
- Ensure compliance with all NZ health and safety legislation and internal standards
- Identify hazards and implement effective risk assessment and mitigation strategies
- Lead incident investigations, audits, and corrective action processes
- Establish and maintain safety standards, frameworks, and tools
- Develop and oversee emergency response and evacuation procedures
- Conduct regular site inspections across operational and administrative facilities
- Deliver safety training, coaching, and awareness programmes
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to strengthen safety outcomes
About You
You are a confident and influential safety leader with strong operational experience and a passion for protecting people.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or related discipline
- 6+ years’ experience in Health & Safety roles, ideally in logistics, transport, or operations
- Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Proven experience in audits, investigations, and safety management systems
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Strong communication, facilitation, and training delivery skills
