Job purpose:

As a Construction & Sustainability Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping sustainable construction across Benelux by ensuring high-quality project delivery and integrating energy-efficient building solutions into our sites.

Your tasks:

Construction management

  • Ensure successful execution of new build, refurbishment, and renovation projects requested by business units
  • Manage technical documentation and ensure compliance with construction specifications and SLAs
  • Translate business requirements into feasible technical solutions
  • Support tendering processes, including preparation of documentation, evaluation of bids, and contractor selection
  • Contribute to business cases and improve construction standards
  • Coordinate and support a wide range of building-related projects

Sustainability management

  • Initiate and implement local sustainability improvement plans aligned with global strategy
  • Identify and assess energy-saving opportunities in buildings and infrastructure
  • Support procurement in identifying and managing sustainability-focused suppliers and pilots
  • Develop and support business cases for sustainable technologies and initiatives
  • Promote and implement solutions such as HVAC optimization, PV installations, LED upgrades, and smart building controls
  • Contribute to carbon reduction and “Carbon Neutral” construction standards for future projects

Project management

  • Lead and manage short- and mid-term construction and sustainability projects
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and governance structure
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinate stakeholders and adjust plans where necessary
  • Conduct feasibility studies and define solution options
  • Actively participate in smaller projects when required

Your profile:

  • HBO (Bachelor-level) working and thinking level, preferably in construction, engineering, or related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in project management, and at least 5 years in a similar construction/sustainability role
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building systems, and sustainability technologies
  • Experience with HVAC, PV systems, LED lighting, and smart building solutions is an advantage
  • Familiarity with logistics real estate is a plus
  • Prince2 certification or other project management methodology is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
  • Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across countries and functions
  • Willingness to travel within Benelux
