Digital Customer Interactions & Sales focuses on creating outstanding digital interactions for our customers and enabling digital sales for our business units. This includes responsibility for our group website dhl.com, where we manage content authoring, technical platform development, and continuously evolve our most important customer journeys.
The Senior Technical Program Manager operates at the platform level, driving transparency, governance, and control of the Digital Experience Platform within a large-scale, multi-team, and multi-vendor environment.
The role plays a key part in shaping the platform’s future direction by influencing architectural decisions and evolving governance models - ensuring modernization and long-term scalability while maintaining flexibility for the DHL group’s digital endeavors.
It owns and drives end-to-end transparency of the Digital Experience Platform, including defining, structuring, and continuously refining key technical and business KPIs.
Furthermore, the role builds and maintains a central platform risk and issue framework, ensuring a proactive approach to risks, security, compliance, and SLA adherence in close collaboration with ITGF and our vendor, ITS.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Own and drive end-to-end transparency of the Digital Experience Platform, including defining, structuring, and continuously refining key technical and business KPIs
• Establish and evolve management reporting frameworks that provide clear, actionable insights into platform health, performance, and business impact
• Build and maintain a central platform risk and issue framework - ensure reliable, scalable, and secure platform operations by proactively overseeing risks, SLA adherence, and compliance in close collaboration with internal and external partners (e.g. ITGF, ITS)
• Define, implement, and continuously evolve platform governance models, setting clear guidelines for platform usage, integration, and ownership across a diverse set of stakeholders
• Act as a central orchestration point across teams and functions, driving alignment on priorities, dependencies, and strategic decisions in a complex, multi-team environment
• Steer and challenge delivery partners and internal teams to ensure consistent adherence to platform standards, processes, and performance expectations
• Shape and influence key architectural and strategic platform decisions, ensuring long-term scalability, maintainability, and modernization (e.g. CMS evolution, headless approaches)
• Establish and drive structured decision-making frameworks for cross-cutting topics (e.g. platform vs. microservice solutions), bringing clarity to complex and ambiguous situations
• Proactively identify gaps in the current setup and drive continuous improvement of the platform operating model, ensuring scalability while enabling autonomous teams
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• University degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
• 10+ years of professional experience in complex, multinational environments, including working with external vendors and partners
• Strong affinity for digital environments and technology, with a solid understanding of IT-related topics
• Several years of experience working with Digital Experience Platforms / CMS (e.g. AEM) and related vendor setups
• Experience operating in large-scale, matrix organizations, ideally within DHL Group or a comparable multinational environment
• Proven track record in managing vendors, agencies, and external delivery partners
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align across business and technology functions
• Highly structured and organized, with the ability to bring clarity to complex and ambiguous situations (“ability to structure chaos”)
• Strong interest in governance topics and structured documentation
• Proactive, self-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership and willingness to go the extra mile
• Collaborative team player with the ability to guide, motivate, and influence others without direct authority
• Previous experience in senior or strategic roles preferred
