We are looking for a Manager Global Network Optimization Group based in Diegem. In this role, you will shape the performance of DHL Express’ global air network by enhancing connectivity across all regions and driving strategic network improvements. You will optimize schedules and capacity, align demand with operational reality, and balance service excellence with aircraft efficiency and cost performance. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence stakeholders worldwide as you steer the continuous evolution of our intercontinental network.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
- Optimize the global Intercontinental air network to ensure strong connectivity, service performance and efficient aircraft utilization.
- Identify risks, bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and translate them into targeted network improvement initiatives.
- Lead seasonal schedule planning and deploy capacity changes aligned with forecast demand.
- Manage the end‑to‑end implementation of new routelines within the Intercontinental network.
- Develop cost‑effective solutions for planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance periods.
- Process charter requests and assess feasibility to support additional revenue opportunities.
- Partner closely with the Intercontinental Network Control Center (INCC) to minimize controllable disruptions.
- Analyze operational drivers and recommend corrective actions to strengthen daily network execution.
- Provide data‑driven insights to improve long‑term schedule design and overall network structure.
- Develop and enhance dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance against key KPIs.
- Support strategic and ad‑hoc business‑critical initiatives requiring deep network expertise.
- Drive process standardization, governance and continuous improvement across all network‑related processes.
Do you have what it takes?
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Logistics/Supply Chain or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a DHL Express network-related role, such as Network Planning, Network Control, Service Quality, or Hub & Gateway Operations, or an equivalent environment.
- Strong analytical capability with proven experience working with large and complex data sets to produce clear, actionable insights for decision-making.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming and data querying languages (e.g. SQL, Python) to support advanced analysis and automation.
- Hands-on experience developing analytics and dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Power BI or equivalent platforms.
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to structure and deliver clear, compelling arguments.
- Proven confidence in presenting complex concepts to senior and executive management, including recommending high-impact solutions to structurally complex or highly leveraged problems.
- Ability to perform effectively under time pressure, balancing short-term operational priorities with longer-term strategic objectives.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage multiple initiatives in parallel, and prioritize effectively.
- Strong change management expertise, with experience leading the adoption of new processes, tools, or ways of working across teams.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities that engage, influence, and motivate teams to embrace continuous improvement and organizational change.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
