The Assistant Manager – Regional Process Engineering & Productivity supports the execution of process engineering, productivity improvement, and standardization initiatives across regional operations. The role is execution-focused and works closely with operations teams to implement defined process improvements, productivity enhancements, and safety initiatives across hubs, delivery centers, and surface-linked operations. Job Purpose:
To support regional operations by executing process engineering initiatives that improve productivity, service quality, safety, and operational consistency, using structured industrial engineering and data-driven improvement approaches. Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Process Mapping & Standardization
•
Support end-to-end process mapping across regional operational activities including first-mile, hub, surface interface, and last-mile operations.
•
Assist in documenting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure process uniformity across locations.
•
Support identification of inefficiencies, rework, and non-value-added activities through structured observation and data collection.
Productivity & Workflow Optimization
•
Assist in conducting time and motion studies to improve throughput and reduce handling time.
•
Support implementation of optimized workflows, layouts, and manpower deployment models.
•
Track productivity metrics at site level and support improvement initiatives.
Ergonomics, Safety & Service Quality
•
Support ergonomic assessments and implementation of safer work practices across operational sites.
•
Assist in safety audits, risk identification, and closure of corrective actions.
•
Ensure process improvements are aligned to service quality, shipment integrity, and TAT requirements.
Cost Efficiency & Resource Optimization
•
Support identification of cost-reduction opportunities through process simplification and productivity improvement.
•
Assist in tracking benefits realization from implemented process changes.
•
Support data collection for cost-to-serve and efficiency analysis.
Technology & Automation Enablement
•
Support rollout and adoption of process improvement tools, automation aids, and digital solutions.
•
Coordinate with IT, vendors, and operations teams during pilots and deployments.
•
Assist in monitoring adoption effectiveness at site level.
Performance Monitoring & Governance
•
Collect and maintain operational data related to productivity, efficiency, and safety.
•
Support preparation of MIS, dashboards, and reports for regional reviews.
•
Escalate deviations, execution gaps, and risks to the Manager for corrective action.
Capability Building & Stakeholder Engagement
•
Support training and awareness sessions on SOPs, productivity tools, and process changes.
•
Act as a process support resource for site operations teams.
•
Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders for smooth execution of improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education
•
Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
•
Preferred: Postgraduate qualification or diploma in Operations, Industrial Engineering, or Logistics.
Experience
•
5–7 years of experience in process engineering, productivity improvement, operations excellence, or similar roles.
•
Exposure to express logistics, courier, e-commerce, or other high-volume, service-driven operational environments preferred.
•
Hands-on experience supporting time & motion studies, SOP execution, and site-level productivity initiatives. Skills & Capabilities:
