E.ON has successfully launched a licensed Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) to simplify grid connections and accelerate the UK’s net-zero transition. As an IDNO, E.ON adopts and operates new local electricity networks across Great Britain, offering connection service, pace and exceptional customer experience. As a strategic, outcome focused Sales Leader you will be responsible for shaping and scaling E.ON’s IDNO commercial engine. This role will define and execute the commercial strategy, build high-performing sales capability, supporting the development of long-term market positioning. The Sales Manager will provide strong leadership to a growing sales team while personally spearheading key strategic commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver a multi-year sales strategy for E.ON’s IDNO business.
  • Collaborate with commercial, finance and operational teams to continue developing data-led sales operating models.
  • Strengthen E.ON’s visibility and credibility across the IDNO ecosystem and with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong sales pipelines, major deals and strategic opportunities.
  • Build strategic partnerships and routes to market to support business growth.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a field-based sales team (BDMs/BDRs) to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Foster high performance, sales culture focused on collaboration, talent development, and operational excellence.

What we need from you

  • A strong understanding of IDNO/DNO/ICP landscape
  • Proven experience leading strategic sales within utilities, energy infrastructure– IDNO.
  • Experience leading major commercial bids or complex deals.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into profitable business opportunities.
  • A track record of leading and developing field-based sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
