Your Role:

Are you passionate about cloud infrastructure, interested in telecom based services and eager to make a significant impact by enabling millions of IoT devices to connect to the internet? emnify is seeking a talented Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help build a scalable and reliable mobile core capable of handling millions of connections per seconds.

You will join a seasoned cross-functional team and work on the design, implementation, and operation of the mobile core applications, which allow devices to roam in more than 540 mobile networks world wide using an emnify SIM card. Our main focus at the moment that you will take part of, is about modernizing and transforming the mobile core from an EC2 based to a container based infrastructure.

As part of this team you will primarily work with the following tech stack: Terraform, AWS Services (EC2, EKS, VPN, Direct Connect, Aurora), Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Java, Akka, Jenkins, Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, Opsgenie.

The position can be based in emnify’s office either in Berlin or in Würzburg or remote in Germany

Your Impact:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions to support the IoT Core Network platform, utilising industry best practices
• Optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness through automation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support existing IP connections and build new connections to facilitate integration with other carriers and Mobile Networks, ensuring reliable communication and interoperability
• Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure proactive management of cloud resources
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, providing technical expertise and guidance
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and incident response activities, providing support for emergencies and service disruptions

Your Skills:

• Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking and collaboration skills
• Proficient with at least one cloud provider (preferably AWS) and seasoned in managing VMs based infrastructure in the cloud
• Proficient with containers and Kubernetes
• Good knowledge of IP networking
• Strong interest in DevOps principles and modern approaches to build and run infrastructure
