MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for the activities inherent to your role, complying with the requirements of the Global Code of Conduct; the Responsible Care Program; the Quality, Environment, Safety and Health Management System; Internal procedures; and ISO 9001, 14001 and 50001 standards when applicable.
  • Maintain plant compliance with mechanical integrity, Process Safety Systems and TSSA requirements
  • Maintain and improve plant performance in the areas of safety, operations, maintenance, reliability, quality and environmental compliance.
  • Provides plant specific technical expertise on the application of new process developments, on equipment innovations and on state-of-the-art maintenance and project techniques, insuring regulatory compliance of technical documentation and maintenance practices.
  • Project expert to support process related projects which may include capacity expansions and upgrades, cost savings, quality, environmental, sustainability and safety improvements
  • Responsible for planning, managing, and organizing the engineering and technical support for the AO production unit including maintenance activities, technical changes/improvements, project management and technical documentation.
  • Lead site RCA processes to identify and generate solutions to address safety, quality, reliability and productivity concerns and incidents
  • Deliver small-scale to large-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.
  • Grow to become Subject Matter Expert of cost awareness and understanding of Evonik accounting principles with focus on capital and improvement project budgeting and justification.
  • Demonstrate competency and capacity to be identified as Site Subject Matter Expert to provide technical support and guidance to other AO and/or other BL sites as required.
  • Support the production and ESHQ team in issuing, reviewing and conducting preliminary risk analyzes, modification requests (MOCs), process failure analysis, near misses, non-conformity reports and PHA, as well as applicable actions and solutions for PSM related findings.
  • Support the ESHQ area in complying with quality, health, safety, environmental procedures and standards, this role will be the key operational support to investigate and address any issues.
  • Carry out studies to optimize and improve the AO process and utilities through engineering and maintenance tools and resources. Goals will be to increase process efficiency, reduce costs, while meeting production targets, forecast, quality standards and sustainability goals
  • Identifies shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager.
  • Helps develop procedures for the maintenance and engineering organization, and monitor their implementation.
  • Provide leadership to 4 direct reports in the maintenance team
  • Analyze the correct specification of Supplies for the acquisition of equipment and materials, related to their areas of responsibility, in accordance with the Supplies manuals and procedures.
  • Delivers required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers while working within an established contract management plan
  • Develop cross-functional network with Regional Business Lines to share and manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues


ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineer
  • PEO or equivalent required
  • 15+ years of Manufacturing experienced preferred, however those with less will be considered depending on background. (Chemical Manufacturing is preferred but not required)
  • Capital Project Experience both as a Project Manager and Implementer
  • MI and TSSA experience
  • Experience leading direct reports in Operational and/or Maintenance Role
