IT Support Specialist (all genders)
Full-time and permanent

Main Scope of Role

Reporting to the Group Leader IT Site Services, we are looking for an IT Support Specialist based in our Hamburg office to help provide technical support to our users. This will include installing, upgrading, diagnosing, and troubleshooting end user hardware and software systems within the IT infrastructure.

To be successful in this role you will need to enjoy supporting end users, have a problem-solving attitude and the ability to give clear technical instructions. You should also be able to work both independently and as a team member.


  • Provide IT deskside and remote support to the Hamburg Evotec teams (approx. 900+ users)
  • Address user tickers regarding hardware, software, and networking through a Jira ticketing system in a primarily Windows environment
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting when necessary and guide users with simple, step-by-step instruction
  • Direct unsolved issues to the next level of support staff
  • Train users in and document procedures to use IT systems and services as needed
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, and in-depth troubleshooting of end user hardware, software, and peripheral devices
  • Administer Active Directory and business applications
  • Maintain the inventory of network components, printers, and other hardware items
  • Ensure prompt and accurate customer service to maintain a high level of user satisfaction
  • To undertake the duties outlined above and other duties as directed by IT Department Management and from time to time carry out any additional tasks as required to support the Companys progress

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven work experience supporting Windows environments and iOS devices
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Office 365 and Active Directory
  • Experience working in preferably a corporate IT environment providing end user support
  • Working knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, flexibility, and readiness to quickly grasp new technical concepts and acquire new technical skills in the areas of servers, networking and IT infrastructure applications
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Customer-oriented attitude
  • Resilient to pressure with flexibility to adapt to changing demands
  • Ability to both work without supervision and work as a member of a collaborative team
  • The discipline to produce documentation of tasks and resolutions
  • Previous IT experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry would be advantageous.
