At Evotec’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the Global IT Security team is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated

Senior Systems Engineer (all genders)

Full time and permanent

Responsibilities:

• Administration and support of oracle databases under Linux and Windows

• Establish patching and version update plans to comply with security, change management, and other applicable policies

• Work with vendors and managed-service providers to enable their data-related needs/services and ensure their compliance with Simplot standards and policies

• Monitor for DB server health, database performance, and other indicators of potential issues and attempt to address them preemptively.

• Refresh lower environments, perform database restores, and conduct regular disaster recovery simulations

• Documentation of job execution environments

• Develop queries of databases and produce output in the form of reports or data extracts exportable to various formats.

• Backup and Recovery with RMAN

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification

• Sound professional working experience in a similar position

• Experience with oracle under Linux OS as well as under Windows OS

• Experience with Dataguard and database security

• Experience with High Availablility Solutions in SE2 and EE

• Experience with Performance Tuning

• Ideally experience in the areas of:

  • Postgres and SQLServer

  • Database in public cloud

  • Audit-proof archiving

  • Backup and archiving in public clouds

  • Database administration and development
