We are currently recruiting for an experienced IFS Finance consultant who is looking to move beyond project delivery and play a role in enterprise transformation. We are looking for a senior functional expert who wants to own outcomes, shape standards, and build long-term value on the customer side. The successful applicant should have experience of IFS10 and IFS Cloud, who will act as a functional IFS expert for Finance and a bridge between business and IT.

Evotec is a leader in the discovery and development of novel small molecule drugs with operational sites in Europe and the US. The Company has built substantial drug discovery expertise and an industrialised platform that can drive new innovative small molecule compounds into the clinic. In addition, Evotec has built a deep internal knowledge base in the treatment of diseases related to neuroscience, pain, oncology, inflammation and metabolic diseases. Leveraging these skills and expertise the Company intends to develop best-in-class differentiated therapeutics and deliver superior science-driven discovery alliances with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies

Role: Senior IFS Finance Expert

Role Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday

Location: UK, based Remote / Hybrid


Your focus

  • Standardization over customization
  • Value realization over ticket closure

What You Will Drive

  • Play a central role in IFS-related projects
  • Challenge legacy ways of working and unlock standard IFS capabilities
  • Design scalable solutions that reduce complexity, cost, and external dependency
  • Own continuous small improvement initiatives
  • Support critical business cycles (e.g. month-end close) with confidence via Jira helpdesk ticketing system and Kanban board
  • Enable data migration, testing strategy (SIT/UAT), and go-live readiness
  • Build internal IFS Finance expertise through regular knowledge transfer
  • Adhere to Evotec’s company values and Compliance rules – includes SOX, Quality, IT security and Works Council.
  • Documentation – ensure compliant, high-quality documentation (process blueprints, functional designs, and user documentation) to support scalable and maintainable IFS solutions.

Skills & Experience

  • Professional finance qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or BSc/MSc degree on Finance/Accounting area or strong financial background.
  • Strong hands-on experience with IFS Finance (IFS10 / IFS Cloud).
    Knowledge of IFS Project Management module is highly advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of finance transformation and ERP best practices
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy into system design
  • Confidence to challenge requirements and drive standardization
  • Strong analytical and solution-design mindset
  • Comfort working across IT, Finance, and external partners
  • Basic IFS technical knowledge, including PL/SQL and experience with Custom Configurations (Custom Fields, Menus, Logical Units, ACP, Events, and Lobbies).
  • A strong IT mindset and software development background would be highly beneficial.
