The Head of Business Development & Operations/ Country Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for steering the regional organization toward sustainable, profitable growth while ensuring operational excellence across the Benelux region. As the key regional representative of Flix, you will lead local teams, build strong external relationships, and serve as the vital connection between the central headquarters and the Benelux market.

About the Role

• Lead by example and inspire the local teams managing the day-to-day operations of the region
• Coach, guide, and develop team members to ensure strong execution, operational stability, and long-term talent growth
• Act as the primary face of the Benelux office, representing Flix to high-level stakeholders, partners, governmental bodies, and industry associations
• Execute the company’s strategy to drive sustainable and profitable growth through continuous optimization and operational excellence
• Identify, evaluate, and launch new business opportunities that strengthen FlixBus’ position in the Benelux market
• Initiate and manage partnerships, niche market explorations, and brand-building initiatives that contribute to network expansion and revenue growth
• Lead cross-functional initiatives that adapt global concepts to local market needs and provide feedback, insights, and market intelligence to HQ to influence strategic decisions and improve overall business impact in your area
• Act as the pivotal link between centralized HQ functions - such as Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Legal - and the local Benelux team
  

About You

• Proven experience in regional leadership roles, ideally within mobility, transportation, logistics, or other operationally intensive industries
• Strong people leader with the ability to inspire teams and build trust at all levels
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in public-facing situations
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive for innovation, growth, and operational excellence
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with both strategic and hands on responsibilities
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Knowledge on Belgium market: nice to have
