This role is HYBRID in the Irving/Dallas TX area

Foot Locker, Inc. is looking for a Senior Application Security Engineer to join our team and play a key role in deploying and managing security tools across our e-commerce and mobile platforms. In this role, you will work closely with developers and platform owners to ensure that security tech stack and best practices are integrated into various environments and development cycle. This position is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience in application security and is passionate about working with different teams to enhance our security posture.


Responsibilities

Tool Implementation & Management:

  • Serve as technical focal point for various initiatives to defend our e-commerce platform from external actors, both malicious and otherwise.
  • Lead the deployment and configuration of application security tools, ensuring they are effectively integrated into our development environments and workflows.
  • Improve upon our existing vulnerability management lifecycle, automating and innovating where possible.
  • Collaborate with developers and platform teams to ensure security tools are used effectively and that they support secure coding practices.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Collaborate with developers and platform owners to roll out security tools across different environments and integrated development environments (IDEs).
  • Provide guidance and support to development teams on the use of security tools and best practices for secure software development.
  • Champion increased threat awareness and engagement in the application and platform engineering teams.

Security Assessments:

  • Lead our active defense efforts, including static code analysis, dynamic application security testing, external vulnerability testing and focused application penetration testing to identify and prioritize security risks.
  • Assist in the remediation of identified vulnerabilities, working closely with development teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.

Documentation & Training:

  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the use of security tools and secure development practices.
  • Provide training and outreach to development teams to increase awareness of security tools and practices.

Incident Response Support:

  • Support incident response efforts by providing technical expertise in application security tools and processes.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of security incidents as needed.
  • Partner with other company stakeholders to ensure remediation efforts and responses adhere to corporate standards and policies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in application security or a related field, with hands-on experience in rolling out and managing security tools.
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 Web Application Security Risks and other relevant security standards.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices and familiarity with different development environments and IDEs.
  • Experience working with developers and platform teams to integrate security tools into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience.

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $90000 - $130000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
