The DC Operations Systems Engineer serves as a key leader responsible for ensuring the health, reliability, optimization, and life cycle management of warehouse technologies. This includes Manhattan WMOS, Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), along with operational configuration, system integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role blends hands-on system expertise with strategic leadership, supporting end‑to‑end distribution center operations. The ideal candidate excels in system configuration, root-cause analysis, cross-functional partnership, data-driven decision making, and vendor management—while acting as the subject matter expert (SME) for Manhattan WMOS.
Responsibilities
System Ownership and Optimization for WMOS Leadership
- Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of system functions, configuration options, operational workflows, and integration touchpoints.
- Learn and understand WMOS configuration, including wave templates, allocation rules, batching logic, putaway/picking strategies and pack/ship flows.
- Drive overall performance, configuration improvement, and stability across WMS, WES, and WCS platforms.
- Analyze system behavior and operational workflows; identify opportunities for optimization, reconfiguration, or enhancement to increase throughput and reliability.
- Work with GTS resources to provide details and examples of issues in support of incident ticket initiated by Operations teams.
- Develop, maintain, and update Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) for new features or operational changes.
Testing, Integration & Maintenance
- Participant in functional testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Design and maintain test scripts, validating end-to-end process integrity across WMS–WES–WCS integrations.
- Partner with vendors (e.g., Manhattan, Fortna, Trew/TKO, Beumer) to manage enhancements, monitor roadmaps, and resolve high-impact issues.
- Maintain documentation on systems, integrations, infrastructure, and support procedures.
Production Support, Troubleshooting & RCA
- Support for distribution center operations, diagnosing complex issues across WMOS, WES, and WCS.
- Conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and define corrective actions (CA) for recurring issues.
- Balance proactive system monitoring with rapid response to production incidents to ensure operational continuity.
Data, Analysis & Reporting
- Write SQL queries to troubleshoot system behavior, generate analytics, and pull operational data.
- Partner with data teams to develop and enhance dashboards
- Perform analytics to support operational decisions, system enhancements, performance metrics, and cost/benefit evaluations.
- Deliver ad hoc reporting and insights to Supply Chain leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Lead communication across Engineering, Operations, IT/Global Technology Services, and vendor teams to ensure alignment on initiatives, statuses, and priorities.
- Mentor and guide engineers, analysts, and operations teams in system usage, capabilities, and best practices.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, data-driven decision making, and customer-centric operational support.
- Drive process improvements using Lean principles and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience with Manhattan WMOS preferred.
- 2+ years experience with WES and WCS platforms, ideally including Fortna WES, Trew/TKO WES, Cirrus or Beumer WCS.
- Advanced SQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2019 experience.
- Excellent communication, leadership, reasoning, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives with precision and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ownership mentality, strategic thinking, and ability to influence across all organizational levels.

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $77,000-120,000, this range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
