About this Position As a Product Development Engineer, you will be an integral part of our organization, contributing to the success of various projects through effective collaboration and leveraging your unique skill set while advancing your career. You will work on developing innovative paste and film products, ensuring they meet customer needs and align with our business strategy, while collaborating with global teams and driving technical excellence.

What You´ll Do

  • Lead the development of new paste and film products, ensuring alignment with innovation goals, customer needs, and overall business strategy
  • Analyze technical data, market trends, customer feedback, and competitive benchmarks to define development priorities
  • Manage scale-up activities, including pilot trials and transfer to mass production
  • Coordinate development projects with Japan and global teams (China, North America, and Korea)
  • Prepare validation plans, conduct testing, and ensure product manufacturability prior to commercial release
  • Drive cross-functional problem-solving, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, and clearly communicate risks, progress, and decisions to stakeholders
  • Execute the AME PDE regional strategy in alignment with global PDE leadership

What makes you a good fit MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in product development or process engineering within the chemical, semiconductor, or electronics industries
  • Hands-on experience with paste or chemical-based products, including scale-up and validation processes
  • Strong data analysis and risk assessment skills (e.g., SPC, FMEA, Minitab, JMP)
  • Effective communication skills in Japanese and English (business-level English acceptable)
  • Strong analytical mindset with hands-on execution

NICE TO HAVE

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Technical, R&D, or Supply Chain teams
  • French language skills
  • Experience in chemical or electronics industries (pharma experience not preferred)
  • Exposure to global projects and multi-country coordination
  • People management experience (optional)
