Job Purpose:

The SHE Manager is responsible for driving the Sustainability, Health, Environment and Safety (SHE) strategy at the Kurkumbh site. The role ensures full compliance with Henkel SHE standards, legal requirements, and continuous improvement agendas, while fostering a strong safety culture and advancing sustainability and process safety excellence across the site

Key Responsibilities

SHE Strategy & Governance

· Drive the site SHE strategy and objectives in line with regional and global Henkel priorities.

· Partner with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and sustain Henkel SHE standards, procedures, and best practices at site level.

Continuous Improvement & Transformation

· Ensure continuous improvement across all SHE areas by driving both “Perform” (operational excellence) and “Transform” (capability and culture building) initiatives.

· Develop and execute site roadmaps for safety enhancement, sustainability, and risk reduction aligned to regional and global SHE priorities.

Audits & Compliance

· Lead and represent the site during key audits including Process Safety Audits, SHE Maturity Audits, and Corporate Safety Audits.

· Ensure timely closure of audit findings through robust corrective and preventive action planning.

Legal & Statutory Management

· Manage the review, renewal, and compliance of all SHE-related legal permits, licenses, and statutory requirements.

· Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental regulations, including ETP operations, environmental clearances, and applicable licenses.

Reporting & Analytics

· Perform required monthly and quarterly SHE reporting as per internal and external requirements.

· Analyze SHE performance trends and proactively drive improvement actions.

Incident Management

· Lead investigation and root cause analysis of SHE incidents.

· Support the development, implementation, and tracking of corrective actions.

· Ensure accurate documentation and closure of incidents in Henkel’s reporting systems.

Capability Building & Training

· Develop and deliver SHE training programs for employees, contractors, and third-party workers.

· Strengthen SHE awareness and competence across all levels of the organization.

Risk Assessment & Workplace Safety

· Develop, deliver, and support workplace risk assessments for the responsible site(s).

· Embed risk-based thinking and preventive approaches into daily operations.

Education & Qualifications

· B.Tech in Chemical Engineering – mandatory

· ADIS / PDIS – essential

Experience & Skills

· 12–15 years of industry experience in chemical, specialty chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

· Prior experience leading SHE in a large manufacturing site (500+ manpower) or multi-plant setup.

· Strong exposure to process safety assessments and implementation of improvement actions.

· Solid understanding of environmental management, including ETP operations, environmental licenses, and statutory clearances.

· Proven capability to lead audits, regulatory interactions, and cross-functional SHE initiatives.

Certifications (Desirable)

· NEBOSH certification
