About This Position

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and executing strategic investment projects across the European region, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and sustainability in every phase. You will be responsible for the technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects.

What You´ll Do

  • Lead and execute investment projects safely, on time, on budget, and in line with Henkel’s Project Management Framework
  • Manage all technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects
  • Drive all project phases, from feasibility and concept development to execution, commissioning, start-up, hand-over and project closure, including lessons learned
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks, resolving and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and transparency
  • Collaborate with internal experts and technology specialists to secure best-in-class technical solutions
  • Facilitate ongoing best practice exchange between sites and the regional engineering group to strengthen sustainability knowledge and capabilities
  • Responsible for design and installation of assets for use both within and outside of Hazardous Areas from both mechanical and electrical perspective.
  • Work in conjunction with the SHEQ and Maintenance supervisor , providing technical support and technical capability in the implementation of the company’s COMAH improvement plan and promoting a positive SHEQ business culture.

What makes you a good fit

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in leading and executing multi million projects in a COMAH/chemical or process manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with relevant tools and methodologies
  • Willingness to travel across Europe up to 20% of the time, depending on project assignments
  • Strong working knowledge of UK electrical regulations, functional safety, and industrial control systems.
  • Experience with permit-to-work systems, contractor management, and site safety leadership.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
