What You´ll Do

  • Lead packaging development projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Own package performance by balancing functionality, quality, manufacturability, sustainability and cost to deliver optimal packaging solutions.
  • Drive packaging development activities with China-based suppliers to support regional and global sourcing strategies, ensuring quality, supply security and cost competitiveness.
  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers, manufacturing sites and cross-functional teams to resolve complex packaging and process challenges.
  • Manage project timelines, development plans and resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Drive packaging technology development and process optimization to support innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all packaging solutions comply with Henkel standards as well as relevant safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Henkel’s sustainability and circular economy targets by identifying opportunities to improve recyclability, material efficiency and carbon footprint.
  • Proactively identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans throughout project development.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality and regional/global R&D teams to translate business and consumer needs into packaging solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and share best practices within the packaging team to strengthen technical capability.
  • Contribute to intellectual property generation and maintain awareness of emerging packaging technologies and industry trends.

What makes you a good fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of packaging development experience in the laundry, home care, personal care or cosmetics industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of injection molding, blow molding and thermoforming processes.
  • Proven experience leading packaging development projects independently in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to solve complex technical problems and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Experience working with suppliers on technical development, qualification and continuous improvement.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
