Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will harness the power of the latest tools and technologies to craft cutting-edge software solutions for the Information Management Systems product. Your responsibilities encompass the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring that components are meticulously designed, rigorously tested, debugged, verified, and poised for seamless integration into IBM’s world-class hierarchical database solutions. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in aiding organizations to enhance their business outcomes in the global marketplace.

Key Duties:

State-of-the-Art Software Solutions:

Leverage the latest tools and technologies to deliver state-of-the-art software solutions for the Information Management Systems product.

Expert Design and Development:

Ensure software components are expertly designed, tested, debugged, and verified to meet the highest standards of quality.

Integration into Hierarchical Database Solutions:

Prepare software components for integration into IBM’s hierarchical database solutions, contributing to world-class database solutions.

Business Outcome Improvement:

Contribute to the improvement of business outcomes for organizations in the global marketplace through the delivery of robust software solutions.

Execution of Development and Testing Tasks:

• Execute tasks required for the development or testing of the Information Management Systems product, ensuring alignment with specifications, client requirements, and business needs.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficient with Windows development:
• C++
• Windows programming APIs
• Windows install and InstallShield development
• Scripting (.bat files)
• DLL loading in mixed 32-bit and 64-bit environment
• Windows file system workings (including file permissions, locked files, spaces in filenames, long vs short file names, relative path redirection)
• Proficient with Linux/UNIX development:
• C++
• Java
• Scripting (ksh/sh files)
• InstallAnywhere development
• General Skills:
• Networking skills across distributed platforms.
• Database experience – DB2, Oracle, MSSQL
• Ability to multitask and re-prioritize tasks as needs of the business change.
• Experienced in debugging enterprise products in a network environment.
• Experienced in using GitHub for tracking issues, builds and deliverables
• Moderate knowledge of System Administration in Windows, Linux and UNIX
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
