Introduction
Thomas J. Watson said it best: “Good design is good business.” Visualization is critical to discovering data-driven insights and effectively communicating that knowledge to others. Designers at IBM work to create experiences that work together, work the same, and work for our clients. Does the thought of creating the platform at the heart of solutions like Watson, Blockchain, IoT, and Security excite you? If so, read on!

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead UX initiatives, delivering scalable, innovative solutions aligned with user-centered design principles and key business goals.
  • Showcase expert design craft yourself while inspiring others on your team to deliver with high quality, efficiency, and impact.
  • Advocate for inclusive design and accessibility (WCAG standards), ensuring that all designs are usable by diverse audiences and meet the highest standards of accessibility.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to create cohesive, end-to-end user experiences.
  • Rapidly design and prototype concepts, wireframes, and interactive flows using your expert Figma skills (if you can’t build and use Figma components in your sleep, this may not be the role for you).
  • Cultivate an engaging creative culture within the cross-disciplinary design team, ensuring that diverse voices and perspectives are valued and integrated into the design process. (We believe our designs are stronger when iterated together.)
  • Mentor and inspire junior designers, fostering growth and promoting best practices in design.
  • Contribute to implementing and maintaining the IBM Carbon Design System for AEM across projects, ensuring adherence to brand and UI best practices.
  • Actively share and refine ideas within the team, embracing feedback early and often to iterate towards target design outcomes.
  • Own and project manage large-scale initiatives including design deliverables (such as concepts, wireframes, interactive prototypes, specifications, etc.), integration with research, collaboration with visual design/animation, and coordination with large-scale project timelines.
