In the Professional (Agents) organization’s Mortgage department, there are two teams: Consumer and Customer. The Consumer team creates tools for Seekers to discover how much they can borrow and provides financial information and affordability calculators. The Customer team connects eligible individuals to appropriate loans using the Mortgage Lead Engine (MLE) service, ensuring lenders offer the best options to qualified Seekers.

How your role will look like:

  • You care about the personal development of your team and its members. Hiring the right people and improving those you are responsible for is just as important as building and improving the products.
  • You understand agile software development and getting projects delivered.
  • You will support your teams to make sure they can dedicate enough effort directed towards sustaining engineering.
  • You have leadership skills that you use to inspire team members. A leader is there for the team, not to control the team. You know the "what" of the team's mission and also the "why". This means you care about producing outcomes, not just output.
  • A desire to work closely with the product owners, other teams, and our users

What you need to succeed:

  • A FinTech engineering background, being able to evaluate complex technical decisions and identify potential technical problems and suggest solutions.
  • You have experience in developing effective consumer flows to help our audience have a delightful experience in selecting the right product.
  • You know how to build and leverage API’s in products for ease of use by business partners
  • Working with a software team to build amazing products is a complex affair and you enjoy talking about the services, the processes and even the humans who build these products.
  • You will look at our status quo - and then influence us to be better. And you have the belief that you are doing it for the right reasons.
  • You have an engineering background and enjoy knowledge sparring with engineers.
  • A good understanding of how to leverage the platform model to support the organization in a highly scalable way.
