As part of our Design Enabling and Services team in Bucharest, you will play a key role in shaping Infineon’s development workflows by creating robust tools and optimizing processes. Your expertise in programming and automation will directly contribute to enabling high-quality, cutting-edge semiconductor design with precision and efficiency.

Job Description
In this role, you will develop advanced software solutions and tools to enhance electronic design automation (EDA) workflows for custom layouts. By leveraging your expertise in programming, you will optimize design processes, improve infrastructure, and support CI/CD pipelines, while collaborating closely with layout development teams.
In your new role you will:

• Develop and maintain robust software solutions in Java, Python and Kotlin for EDA tools to support custom layout and design flow automation
• Write efficient scripts and tools using Python, Makefiles, and Bash to improve design workflows and infrastructure
• Contribute to developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools like Jenkins or GitLab
• Provide technical support and enhancements for custom tools, including those using TCL, PERL, or Skill/LISP when applicable
• Work closely with teams involved in chip, package, or PCB layout development, gaining insights into the technical requirements of the layout processes
• Analyze and optimize existing software frameworks and help integrate new solutions as required by the growing demands of our design teams

Your Profile
You are a solution-oriented professional who approaches challenges with autonomy and proactivity. Your ability to identify opportunities, take initiative, and deliver well-thought-out solutions makes you a reliable and effective contributor to any development process.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related technical fields
• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in software development with a strong foundation in software engineering principles (e.g., software design, lifecycle management, best practices in coding)
• Strong programming skills (Java, Python and Kotlin is a must), with a focus on applying these skills to electronic design automation (EDA)
• Strong scripting abilities using Python for building automation workflows and infrastructure-related tools
• Foundational understanding of electrical engineering concepts to effectively engage in semiconductor-related workflows
• Layout Experience (Chip/Package/PCB)
• Familiarity with physical design workflows is an advantage
