About the Role

The role of Wireless Network Engineer in our Real Time Logistics (RTL) division is to design, stage, commission and maintain our customers’ wireless network and mobile devices. You will identify and provide feedback opportunities for improvement in the technology or performance of systems and products over time.

The position reports to our Customer Service Real Time Logistics Field Service Manager and is based from our head office in Belrose. The role is required to start as soon as possible.

Customer site visits will also be required across Sydney.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Opportunity

The role of Wireless Network Engineer is to design, stage, commission and maintain client’s wireless network and mobile devices. It is to identify and provide feedback opportunities for improvement in the technology or performance of systems and products overtime. This role is to ensure all safety standards are met on all sites including Dematic employees, contractors and customers alike.

The role

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Integration of wireless technology interfacing with existing network infrastructure and services

  • Staging and commissioning of end user mobile device clients and wireless infrastructure

  • Remote and onsite trouble shooting and diagnostic tasks, engaging third party support

  • Perform wireless simulation and onsite wireless site survey in industrial environments

  • Prompt communication to ensure customer satisfaction and issue escalation

  • Provide feedback and support where required to project and sales teams to ensure sales proposals and site implementation are accurate and within time constraints

  • Carry out on-site preventative maintenance, service actions and other routine tasks according to customer requests and contract obligations

  • Commission equipment and complete operator and first level support training

  • Develop and maintain effective on-going relationships with customers

  • Use hazard identification tools and systems to ensure safe work practices are used and work areas and customer sites are hazard free

  • Recognize and report sales opportunities

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified in an engineering/IT or scientific discipline

  • Networking experience (CCNA or CWNA will be looked upon favorably)

  • Experience in wireless applications (Understanding of 802.11 networks)

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact and liaise with all team members

  • Technical report writing (can be trained)

  • Competent use of MS Office applications.

  • Understanding of OH&S requirements, hazard Identification and control

  • Customer focus and relationship skills

  • Ability to perform work at heights on EWP (training provided)

  • Ability to work unsupervised and to set own priorities or as part of a team
