As part of the KION ITS EMEA we are looking for an Product Sustainability & Advocacy Expert to support us in reaching our ecologic products goals.

You will Inform and support all relevant project managers, R&D departments, sales departments, etc. about upcoming legislation in the area of ecological product requirements

Additionally you will provide Life Cycle Assessments for KION’s products

Your Responsibilities:

• Strategically forward-looking: communication about the main future development in the EU ecological product sector and the suggested activities to be implemented to the relevant CTO departments (e.g. CTO product strategy department., CTO life cycle departments, R&D departments, sales departments, etc.).

• Implement an LCA calculation program with product-specific LCA data base.

• LCA data acquisition of product series, company units, production sites, sales organizations.

• Create life cycle assessments using internal databases and software.

• Give recommendations to product development to reduce the ecological footprint of our products

• Influencing political developments, legislative processes and standardization projects in the field of EU ecological product requirements in the interests of KION, via associations, standardization and political bodies (e.g. by lobbying activities, by dealing with analysis, evaluation and commenting of political developments, etc.).

• Develop draft standards, position papers and statements to present KION’s position in committees of politics, associations and standardization.

Tasks and Qualifications:

• University degree in mechanical, industrial, ecological engineering with focus on ecological product design.

• A university degree in mathematics, physics or economic is also welcome, but the candidate must have additional knowledge and an interest in ecologic product requirements.

• Experience in ecological product requirements.

• Certificate or experience in ecological Life Cycle Assessment.

• English language proficiency.

• Willingness and availability to travel frequently.

• Knowledge and interest in data collection, data validation, statistics or similar operations / tools.

• Knowledge and interest in digital technologies.

• Stakeholder management skills.

• Communication skills.
