Main purpose of the position
You will be part of the team that leads the development and implementation of the KION-wide environmental product compliance program within the KION Quality organization. This program is the foundation for making ESG and circularity become reality.
The team sets the standards and coordinates all relevant activities worldwide (e.g., with procurement, R&D, Sales & Service) – it is truly the “heart” of KION’s environmental product compliance activities

Tasks and Qualifications:

• Classification and categorization of material numbers (components and products) in the scope of product-related environmental requirements in SAP (REACH, RoHS, Battery Directive, WEEE Directive, ...) in cooperation with Development, Product Management and Sales, among others.
• EMEA-wide material compliance data management in a SAAS solution, including certificate and document management
• Creation of status reports, e.g., BOM analyses in the context of new product development
• Creation of product-related compliance certificates and reporting as well as provision to customers and authorities
• Technical communication with suppliers and customers
• Approval of materials, e.g., within the framework of PPAP

Required functional competencies / experience / qualifications

• Bachelor or master’s in engineering, Environmental Studies, or similar
• Basic knowledge of relevant material compliance regulations for the mechanical engineering industry
• Affinity for data
• Very good English and preferably German language skills
• SAP basic knowledge would be a plus
• MS-Office
